Firstly, let’s look at the Yorùbá words for day, week, month and year.

The Yoruba word for (please watch video to hear how the words are pronounced);

Day                –              Ọjọ́

Week            –             Ọ̀sẹ̀

Month          –              Oṣù

Year               –              Ọdún

DAYS OF THE WEEK

Sunday                      –           Ọjọ́ – Àìkú

Monday                    –           Ọjọ́ – Ajé

Tuesday                     –           Ọjọ́ – Ìṣẹ́gun

Wednesday              –           Ọjọ́ – rú

Thursday                   –           Ọjọ́ – bọ̀

Friday                         –           Ọjọ́ – Ẹtì

Saturday                   –           Ọjọ́ – Àbámẹ́ta
